Cast and crew gathered at the National Opera House on Monday (May 8) for a reading of the forthcoming Four Rivers production of Dominic Palmer’s The Last Stand which will run at Wexford Arts Centre from June 8th-17th

The Last Stand is the third play in a row by a new voice in Irish theatre for Four Rivers. It will be directed by Ben Barnes.

Among the six strong cast are three well known Wexford actors: Sharon Clancy, Jack Matthews and Michael Dunbar.

In The Last Stand, veteran comedian Tom Hooks engages in a no-holds barred verbal joust with various callers to what is, he has decided, his final podcast.

Who better to play the part of Hooks than a veteran of Irish comedic acting and writing, Morgan C. Jones, who began his stand up career as a sixteen year old and became the chief script writer on the iconic Nighthawks series for RTE.

Fiona Browne

Fans familiar with Fair City will recognise Fiona Browne (D.I. Audrey) who assumes the role of Sarah. Fiona has recently appeared in Portia Coughlan at the Abbey and Dubliners for Corn Exchange and can be seen in Normal People, Vikings and Red Rock.

The role of Techie Brendan will be played by Dylan Kennedy who was seen recently as Sean in the Four Rivers production of Amongst Men.
