Amongst Men rehearsals

We started rehearsals on March 6th for Eoghan Rua’s play Amongst Men. It read well and there was a very nice atmosphere in the room generated in the first instance by Deirdre Dwyer, the director and contributed to by the cast and Clare Smith, our company stage manger. We are rehearsing at the old courthouse building which has been renovated for the Southern Georgia University but they have yet to take up residence. It’s a bright, airy, high ceilinged, warm and quiet with kitchen and bathroom facilities adjacent and plenty of floor space for a mark up and production tables. We rehearsed Lights Out there and I found it very congenial. Eoghan seemed pleased with the reading and understands there is a lot of work ahead. He’s open to that, quick with re-writes and very bright. Plus he’s a natural writer so I’m excited for what he will turn up. The rest of the Four Rivers team peeled away after the reading and Deirdre and her cast can get down to the real work.
