Carrie is Dolly in Castel Gandolfo
Carrie Crowley is Dolly in Jim Nolan’s Castel Gandolfo, a Four Rivers’ production at Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford, directed by Ben Barnes. It opens Friday, October 4th, running until Saturday October 19th. One of Ireland’s best known stage and screen actors, Carrie received recent acclaim at home and abroad for the role of Eibhlín Cinnsealach in the film ‘An Cailín Ciúin’, which was shortlisted in the 2022 foreign film category of the Oscars and for which she was also nominated for Best Supporting actress in that year’s IFTAs. Other drama series work includes Valhalla, Vikings, Ros Na Rún, The Running Mate, 13 Steps Down, School Run, An Crisis, Acceptable Risk, The Clinic and Fair City where she spent four years as Jackie Ferguson. Most recent work includes Cathy in SisterS, Veronica Sloan in Obituary, Hilde in Valhalla (series three), Assumpta in BBC’s Hope Street (series three and four) and Rose Dugdale’s mother in the feature film Baltimore. A native of Waterford, Carrie’s work in theatre includes Improbable Frequency with Rough Magic, The Separation in London and Dublin, The Dead School at Tricycle London and an Irish tour, A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Storytellers and The Irish Chamber Orchestra and Footfalls as part of A Taste of Beckett at Theatre Royal Waterford.
