Mayoral Reception for Billy Roche

Mayor of Wexford John Hegarty accorded playwright Billy Roche a Mayoral Reception in recognition of Four Rivers upcoming celebration of his Wexford Trilogy in June.
Members of Wexford Municipal District joined family and friends of Billy along with casts and production teams of the forthcoming Four Rivers programme of events at Wexford Arts Centre.
The first professional revival of A Handful Of Stars in Wexford starring Dermot Murphy and Gary Lydon is being undertaken alongside readings of the other Wexford Trilogy plays, Poor Beast in the Rain and Belfry, with all Wexford casts including Barry Barnes and Garrett Lombard.

In A Handful Of Stars, directed by Conall Morrison, Gary and Dermot will be joined by a star-studded cast of Michael Power (Vikings, The Game of Thrones), John Olohan (Lies We Tell, Father Ted), Tiernan Messitt-Greene (Ghosted, Harry Wild), Brian Doherty (Resistance, The Woman in the Wall) and Éilish McLaughlin (Rebecca’s Boyfriend).

A Handful Of Stars begins at Wexford Arts Centre with a preview Thursday 6th June (€28/26). It then runs Friday 7th – Saturday 8th June and Tuesday 11th to Saturday 15th June with matinée shows Sunday 9th June at 3pm and Sunday 16th June at 4pm.
