The Eoin & Billy Show wows Wexford!
Wexford writer Eoin Colfer had the literati of the county eating from the palm of his hand last Tuesday evening as he regaled them with stories of the crazily imaginative youngster who would go on to become one of the World’s top writers of children’s fiction. Eoin was being interviewed by writer, poet and Four River’s Head of Communications Tom Mooney. The focus of the interview was the influence early in Eoin’s career of the playwright Billy Roche and, subsequently, his own celebrated career as a children’s novelist. When Billy, himself, joined Eoin and Tom onstage for the latter part of the evening the energy levels went through the roof as the elder lemon’s squeezed-dry cloth-cap humour crossed quills with the hobgoblinesque mischief-making apprentice. Between them, and despite raising the roof, they brought the house down!
